Who We Are

Homestead Academy is a micro-school that reinvents the one room schoolhouse.

We focus on individualized, self-paced, and project-based learning in a small, multi-age, community-focused group.

We integrate Biblical concepts, foundational academics, and hands-on experiences to ensure lifelong learners.

Our mission

Homestead Academy works hand in hand with our families to curate an individualized learning plan for each student, according to their pace.

While the Arkansas State Frameworks are our guide, our focus is to instill a lifelong love for learning into each student and support them as they seek the Lord in their lives.

We integrate methods such as classical education, outdoor learning, hands-on methods, and life skills. We know that we can engage students by gardening, raising farm animals, cooking, sewing, trades, and other methods to get back to our foundational life skills, all while covering our state's academic standards.

Homestead Academy strives to provide outstanding academics, social/emotional growth, and entrepreneurial skills for the next leaders of America with a Biblical foundation.

Our Curriculum

Homestead Academy is focused on the whole child.

The Bible is our guide for our character and social emotional growth. We will use scripture memorization to instill these truths in our hearts.

With our 15 to 1 class ratio, we are able to focus on mastery of the Arkansas State Frameworks. This is the backbone to our academics. Students will be working towards mastery of skills at their individual pace.

The Science of Reading is foundational to our literacy program. We will use their structure, including Heggerty and The Good and The Beautiful.

We will also use The Good and The Beautiful for Math, along with setting individual math goals, according to the Arkansas State Frameworks.

Social Studies and Science will be integrated cross-curricular through hands-on projects, guest speakers and field trips, along with remaining aligned to the State Frameworks.

Outdoor learning is often used. It is healthy for children to be outside as much as possible. We encourage them to learn from God’s creation through exploration, enjoy nature while reading, and participate in gardening/farming adventures

Our curriculum stays flexible to meet each individual child’s needs. We will use formal (NWEA MAP) and informal assessments to determine the students next goals and use all means necessary to help them reach these goals.

What our Families say

“I love how the teachers are so nice to people. It is SO fun!”

Adalynn, 8

“Ms. McCollum is the best teacher I have ever had in my life!”

Isaac

“I like finding lizards and studying about frogs. I can get dirty every day while I learn.”

Titus, 5

“I am so thankful the teachers at Homeschool Academy partner with me in my children’s education. They love and encourage my children and challenge them to reach their full potential.”

Melissa, Parent

“I love how it is magical. We used to sit in class all day at public school. Now, we get to learn hands-on, like fishing with our bare hands and hatching baby chicks. The teachers give us hard work, but we don’t have to do it in a boring way. I can’t wait to run my own business.”
